Motherhood: massage, bodywork, support
Pregnancy massage is one of the best, most underrated forms of support for expectant mothers. Research and continuous education on the topic of pregnancy bodywork continue to update us on the benefits and possibilities of wellness that a mother may receive. In this page, I intend not only to provide alternatives for mothers to choose the most suitable type of massage, but to share with clients and providers knowledge on what massage can and cannot do during pregnancy, as well as how important it is for everyone to be updated on the most adequate, science based techniques for such a sensitive time in a woman’s life.
Under my care, all pregnancy massage sessions are done side-laying from week 14 — or before when necessary. Stomach laying positioning after the first 14 weeks of pregnancy have proven negative impacts on the pelvis, the uterine ligaments and the sacral/lumbar spine region. Not to mention diaphragm and sinuses pressure that makes limited breathing capabilities even harder. For more on this, please read the resources available on the information page once this is set up.

Nine months up, nine months down is a common saying after birth. And it is a real one. For this reason I offer postpartum massage sessions especially crafted for your own journey. Whether you are a mom in the early stages or a mom in the first year or a mom who never got any postpartum care and your kids are now 1.5 to 35 years of age. We heal in postpartum so we can have a gentle peri/menopausal transition. Our times with and in between transitions impact each other.
